The Lithology Property Editor

Using the Lithology Property Editor you can associate a rock type with the different classes and values that populate your input lithology log. If you are working in the 1D Model workflow, you can open the editor from the Lithology Model form (1D Model > Lithology) by selecting a lithology log as the source input and then clicking the adjacent Show button. If you are working in the Wellbore Stability workflow, you can open the editor in the Wellbore Stability > Setup sub-strip by clicking the Lithology Model icon.

The editor contains a table with these columns:

Class Name  (read-only) Displays the class name as it appears in the input lithology log.

Value  (read-only) Displays the log value in the input lithology log.

Rock Type  Use to select the rock type to associate with the given class and value combination. The list of rock types correlates directly with the available rock types in the Rock Type view.

You can populate this column using the Try parse button, which attempts to match Class names with Rock Type names.

To assign rock types to log classes

  1. With the Lithology Property Editor open, click into the Rock Type column for each row and assign a rock type to the class.
  2. Depending on the classes used in the log, you can click the Try parse button, which will attempt to automatically populate the rock type for each class based on the class name in the log.
  3. When you are finished assigning rock types, click OK to accept the assignments and close the editor.
